Do not remove the iLok while running Pro Tools. Searching through the DUC I found many other people with similar problems and some had said they submitted a case to Avid support and had received a temporary. My iLok sat there with a Pro Tools 12 license for all the world to see but Pro Tools 12.6 was having none of it.

I think avids model is wrong, because no matter when your plan expires and you decide to stop, you will never get hold of the bug fix releases in order to "complete" your PT. Please correct me if that is wrong, since I haven't been able to try it out. So, even though the license is OK, the hurdle issued by avid is that you can't get hold of the installers for neither 12.5.1 nor 12.5.2 from your account, if your plan expired at 12.5.0.
